Voice isn’t working on ATSpeak, how can I get the microphone to show up?

Make sure you have a secure connection. On the top of the toolbar, ensure the URL begins with "https://".

Why did I get an error when trying to have all of my students run a voice model check at the same time?

Each check of a voice model takes up one instance of an available virtual machine (VM). For example, if you have 10 licenses (VMs) and 5 users want to check 3 voice models at the same time, you would need 15 VMs to run them at the same time. In this instance, 2 users will likely have to wait a few minutes for other voice model checks to finish before the VMs become available.

I'm trying to run ATSpeak on my iPad, but it wont let me type anything into the username or password areas. How do I get my iPad to allow text entry?

Check your display settings to ensure you are not operating in "dark mode." Click on "settings", "display and brightness" and make sure that "Light" is checked under "Appearance" at the top of the screen.

How do I change the server/URL address on my iPad?

Open the ATSpeak App on your iPad. Click on settings wheel on the top left of your screen. A settings page will open up and the URL can be entered. Make sure your URL address starts with "https://". Select "Done" on the top right when finished. The URL will be stored for future sessions.

Why can’t I see an exercise that my instructor said I’m supposed to run?

Make sure that you have been assigned to the correct class ("Class" names are listed above the "Courses" in the "Select Exercise" tab) and ensure you have selected the proper "Course."

I have multiple exercises but when I try to select some of them, there is a lock icon and are grayed out. Why can't I select the exercise?

Exercises that are grayed out, or have a red "X" icon near them, indicate a locked exercise with prerequisites. These prerequisites were set by your instructor and indicate that you must achieve a minimum score on a previous exercise(s) before being granted access to the locked exercise. Once the prerequisite conditions are met, you should have access to the locked exercise.

I started the exercise but why didn’t I hear the “Welcome to ATVoice?”

If the exercise you have selected does not have any voice/phraseology tasks, the exercise will simply load without using voice and you will not hear the greeting.

I want to chance my voice model before I run an exercise. How do I do that?

When you select an exercise to run, on the "Exercise Start" page, the voice model can be selected from available models at the bottom of the screen. Alternatively, if you know which voice model you want as a default, you can add it to your user profile via ATPortal.

Is there a way to pause an exercise after you started it to make the time stop?

No. The exercise time will continue to run as long as the exercise is running.

Why can’t I repeat a task that I got wrong?

Repeating a task is controlled by the exercise creator or your instructor. If a task can be repeated, there will be an "attempts" window on the top right below the "Exercise Progress" which will show how many attempts you have done/how many allowed. Ex: 0/2 = zero attempts done, two allowed.

I see a situation question, but how do I get the pilot voice to activate?

Situation tasks can either be activated by time (defined by the exercise creator), or upon the student selecting the "GO" button under the "PTT" button. If there is not a "GO" button, the pilot will automatically start speaking once the defined time has passed.
